Ulefone Power 3 in review, 6GB RAM and the power of a 6080mAh battery

The Ulefone Power 3 It is the improved version of its predecessor, the Ulefone Power 2. A phone that came out to improve some aspects of the original Ulefone Power, an excellent mid-range whose particularity was an original wood finish, but that was sinful in some aspects. The new Ulefone Power 3 follows the same path of the 2 previous models, offer a powerful terminal at the most balanced price possible. In today's review, we take a look at the Ulefone Power 3. Let's go!

Ulefone Power 3, infinite screen, 6GB of RAM and 6080mAh battery for less than 200 euros

The new Ulefone Power focuses on 2 very specific qualities: RAM memory and Battery. In addition, it brings a touch of color with the always effective infinity screen, so popular this season. But let's stop with generalities and go to detail ...

Design and display

As I mentioned a couple of lines above, the Ulefone Power 3 features a 6-inch infinity screen with an aspect ratio of 18: 9 (ratio screen-to-body 90.8%) and a Full HD + resolution of 2160x1080p. All this protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

At the design level, it has been essential to remove the classic physical Home button that the previous Power models equipped to fit that large screen on the front. For the rest, the same curved finish is maintained, with a metal casing, fingerprint detector on the back and an elegant touch, which never hurts.

It has dimensions of 15.90 x 7.59 x 0.99 cm and a weight of 210gr –yes, it is one of those mobiles that are noticeable when we carry them in our pocket-.

Power and performance

At the performance level we find the usual characteristics of a premium mid-range of Chinese origin. It lacks nothing: processor Helio P23 Octa Core 2.0GHz, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB via SD card. All this under the watchful eye of Android 7.1.

A terminal capable of moving practically any app that is thrown at it and moderately heavy games, with the assurance that RAM will undoubtedly not be lacking. Among its functionalities, it stands out mainly the possibility of activating the unlocking by Face ID, that is, facial unlocking.

To give us an idea, the Ulefone Power 3 presents a score in the Antutu benchmarking tool of 65,233. A score practically identical to that achieved by the Xiaomi Mi A1 (Antutu score of 64,523).

Camera and battery

The camera is another important aspect in this Ulefone Power 3. The manufacturer has decided to include up to 4 cameras in the terminal. On the one hand, we have a 21MP + 5MP dual rear camera with PDAF fast focus and Dual Flash. For the front, mount another 13MP + 5MP dual camera with beauty mode and dim lighting for selfies. There is no doubt that it is a powerful combination that is difficult to beat by other competitors.

For example, the Vernee X, a mobile with similar characteristics, "only" mounts a 16MP + 5MP double camera. Which is not bad at all, but if we also take into account that the Ulefone Power 3 is 30 euros cheaper, the balance inevitably opts towards the latter.

Updated: The rear camera of the Ulefone Power 3 is 16MP interpolated, which allows it to reach a higher number of megapixels (21MP), although its real resolution is 16MP, the same as that of the Vernee X. Thanks to Nerea for the correction.

The big ace up the Power 3's sleeve is its battery. There we all agree. A 6080mAh battery with fast charging 4.0 via USB Type-C that gives an enviable autonomy to the terminal. According to manufacturer data, with a 30-minute quick charge, we can get enough "gear" for a full day of normal use.

Price and availability

The Ulefone Power 3 has just been presented in December 2017 with an official price of $ 299.99. However, we can already get hold of him fora reduced price of € 198.98, about $ 239.99 to change on GearBest.

Opinion and final evaluation of the Ulefone Power 3

[P_REVIEW post_id = 10046 visual = ’full’]

The best way to see the new Ulefone smartphone in perspective is probably comparing it with its biggest range competitors, such as the aforementioned Vernee X.

While there are hardly any differences at the design level, the Vernee X has twice the storage space (128GB as standard). By contrast, the Ulefone Power 3 offers a 21MP top rear camera and a more affordable price.

As for the rest, in both cases we find really similar phones. Does a better camera and lower price pay for 64GB less internal space? If you are one of those who think so, then this is your smartphone.
