Earth Online: hundreds of public webcams at the click of a button from your mobile
Earth Online is a free app for Android that allows access to hundreds of public webcams from different parts of the world. A gym in New York, a town in Australia, a neighborhood in Chicago or a luxurious hotel in Cancun, are just some of the various places that have their corresponding webcam and that have been collected in this interesting app developed by TmrApps.
The application has, literally, hundreds of webcams (we have come to calculate about 700), which we can consult simply by clicking on its thumbnail image. If we want to have a more global vision, the app it also has a map pointing out all places where a camera is available, and a categorization by type of camera (cities, landscapes, interiors, universities, etc.).
Where are the webcams located?
Most of the webcams are located in Europe and the US, but there are also cameras in various places in Asia, Australia or even Greenland. In Africa the only webcam is located in a Windsurf center on the beach of Hurghada, Egypt.
One of the most interesting points is the fact of being able to move the camera at will, a functionality that is unfortunately still under development (although it is already being announced, so we imagine that it will not take long to arrive). Surely when it is published the user community will know how to value it as it deserves.
