UMI has started 2017 hitting hard. After presenting the UMI Plus E and UMI Z terminals, its bets for the high-end range, in addition to the change of name from UMI to UMIDIGI, now it surprises us with a new smartphone specially oriented to cover its presence in the more terrestrial mid-range. The UMIDIGI C NOTE is a device with a premium finish very similar to the UMI Z , which also has 3GB of RAM and a new improved battery.
In today's review we take a look at the UMIDIGI C NOTE , an inexpensive mid-range with an excellent quality / price ratio, as well as an outstanding design.
Display and layout
Design is one of the strengths of the C NOTE. An excellent aluminum unibody finish that denotes a good work in the factory, with rounded edges and the always appreciated physical button on the front panel that also does the job of a fingerprint sensor. As we mentioned at the beginning, a design almost traced to the company's high-end UMI Z model. Available in gray and gold.
As for the screen, the terminal has a generous panel of 5.5 inches with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080), 401 ppi and 2.5D arched manufactured by Sharp. A very good screen that will delight many.
Power and performance
The hardware is presented as a great alternative for those looking for a moderate but effective terminal. Mount a processor MTK6737T Quad Core 1.5GHz , 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage expandable up to 256GB. All this directed with an iron hand by Android 7.0 .
UMIDIGI's customization layer for the operating system is very light, delivering an Android of marked purity that works with great fluidity. Something more humble than the rest of the high-end smartphones of the house, but as a mid-range terminal that barely exceeds 100 euros, it pays off like a charm.
Camera and battery
The UMIDIGI C NOTE camera fulfills everything that we can ask of a terminal of this type. 13MP for the rear camera with flash and PDAF (provided by Samsung) that allows quality photos to be taken as long as we avoid low-light or low-light environments. The selfie camera wears a correct 5MP.
As for the battery, the C NOTE significantly outperforms even its older brother, the UMI Z. A powerful 3800mAh battery that assures us the necessary autonomy to last all day giving cane without the need to have a charger nearby. We would have settled for 3500 or 3600mAh, so these 3800mAh are a perfect fit.
As for the rest of the specifications, the C NOTE has 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1 and dual SIM (Nano SIM + Nano SIM).
Price and availability
In terms of specifications and finish, the UMIDIGI C NOTE is closer to a terminal of 150 or 160 euros, but as usual in the manufacturer, the price is terribly tight, until it reaches a not inconsiderable price of 118.66€ (about $ 129.99 to change).
In short, a mid-range device that draws attention for its successful design and that presents an excellent quality / price ratio, thanks to its 3GB of RAM, its 32GB of internal space, an efficient camera and its more than notorious battery.
