How to extract audio track from any video file with VLC
The conversion process in VLC is the easiest thing you can get in your face. Below we explain how to do it, although if you do not have this application at the end of the post we also explain other free and simple alternatives to carry out this same process. Let's go to the mess!
- Open VLC and from the top menu click on "Medium -> Convert”.
- In this new window, from the tab "File" Choose "Add”To add the video you want to convert to audio format.
- If you activate the "Show more options" tab, the tool will also allow you to specify the start and stop time. Perfect if you only want to extract the audio of a certain moment from the video.
- In addition to this, if we activate the corresponding box VLC will also allow us to add another extra audio track so that it is reproduced in a synchronized way.
- When we have everything to our liking, we just have to click on the button "Convert / Save”.

- If you want to make some additional adjustments you can click on the wrench icon. From here you can tweak things like the codec used, the bit rate or the sample rate, among other details.

- Click on the button "Start”. The process may take more or less time depending on the size of the file. For example, if we extract the audio from a 3-minute video clip, the conversion to MP3 format usually does not take more than 10 seconds.

I have also tried to reproduce this process in the Android version of VLC, but it seems that this function is not available (at least I could not find it. If anyone knows how to do it please leave a note in the comments).
