How to send self-destructing messages on WhatsApp: Kaboom!

WhatsApp is always thinking of new features. Last year we were able to start enjoying end-to-end encrypted video calls and conversations. Unfortunately, the messages that self-destruct not yet part of the repertoire of WhatsApp. So if we want send messages that are automatically destroyed we will have to use a third-party application: Kaboom.

How to send messages by WhatsApp that are destroyed automatically

Kaboom is a free app and is available for both Android What ios. Thanks to this app we can write a message or attach a picture to one of our WhatsApp contacts, and then establish a time limit or a certain number of views. Once the established time or limit has elapsed the message will be deleted forever.

How does Kaboom work?

The first step in sending these types of self-destructing messages is to install the application.

Once the tool is installed and opened, the first thing we have to do is write our name. Then we can simply add a photo / image or write a text message, just as we would from within WhatsApp.

If we click on the icon of the chronometer located at the bottom left of the screen we will determine the time limit or the number of views before the message self-destructs.

When we have prepared the message we will only have to click on the icon "Send" and click on the WhatsApp app.

When we select the contact we want to send the message we will see how what arrives is not our message as such, but a link.

By clicking on this link the receiver will be able to open the message that we have sent. Once the time limit has expired, the message / image will be deleted and will not be accessible.

Can you send self-destructing messages to other apps like Line, Gmail or Facebook Messenger?

The answer is yes. We can use Kaboom to send messages to any app that allows "sharing things". Deep down, all we do is share a link, which is what then takes us to the content of the message. So we can use it with the mail, WhatsApp, Line, Google Drive, Twitter, Tumblr and even with SMS messages.

Is it safe to send messages through Kaboom?

AnchorFree, the developers of the app, assure that their objective is to offer security in communications over the internet. To ensure the security of the messages we send use a Hotspot Shield VPN, to channel all web activity and create a custom tunnel for each user, thus ensuring the total privacy of the messages. This guarantees us to a great extent that this information will only reach those people with whom we choose to share its content. Of course, only until the message self-destructs.
