The idea of the new Teclast M89 is clear: an elegant device and not too big to take anywhere, browse and watch high resolution videos for a more than affordable price.
Design and display
The M89 features a 7.9 ”IPS screen with 2048x1536p resolution and a pixel density of 324ppi. It has a metallic aluminum body that gives a certain substance to the whole and a flattened design that makes the screen a little wider than usual.
At the base of the tablet we find a micro HDMI port, headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and two stereo speakers. It has dimensions of 19.90 x 13.60 x 0.74 cm, a weight of 400 grams and is available in champagne color.
Power and performance
At the hardware level, we are facing a pure and hard mid-range tablet, which offers a performance similar to what we could find in a quality smartphone such as the Xiaomi Redmi 6 or the Redmi 5 Plus with its Snapdragon 625.
This results in an SoC 2.1GHz 6-core MT8176, 700MHz PowerVR GX6250 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal space expandable up to 128GB via SD. The operating system is Android 7.0.
Mediatek's MT8176 chip integrates a processor with 2 Cortex-A72 cores -the great novelty in this type of SoC-, and a GPU that includes a video decoder with support for 4K and H.265.

Camera and battery

The Teclast M89 currently has a really juicy price of € 125.84, about $ 142.99 to change, on GearBest. We can also find it on other sites such as Amazon, for a price of around 160 euros.
In short, this is a tablet that can be great for us if we are looking for something cheap and manageable, but that has a good screen and allows us to browse and install apps without having to worry too much about the performance of the device.
It is not comparable to other tablets of 300 euros or more, of course, but for the price it has, the truth is that it is the best that we can find today.
