Currently, the vast majority of mobile devices allow the expansion of internal memory through external memory. It usually comes in the form of micro SD card. The incorporation of this possibility allows the acquisition of mobile devices with "modest" internal memories, to later be expanded with the introduction of this type of cards. This is how you will avoid problems with its operation.
Micro SD cards represent many advantages for our mobile devices. Especially if they lack sufficient internal storage. However, there are situations in which they are very annoying, since our teams stop recognizing them. There can be many reasons that can generate this type of problem. Learn about some of the options we have to make our device recognize them again.
Reasons why the microSD card is not recognized by a mobile device
Micro SD cards have been around for a long time. These are necessary in mobile devices with internal memory of 16 GB, or less than this capacity. They are generally accepted by these teams, but there are cases in which it is not recognized. Some of the reasons why they are not recognized are:
- Incompatibility with the equipment.
- Enter it incorrectly.
- There is a problem at the level of the configuration of our mobile.
Like everything that exists, this type of card also has its expiration time. It is common that the passage of time can deteriorate them, causing damage to the partition system level.
Micro SD card recognition solutions
To expand the memory capacity of a mobile device, it is necessary to use a micro SD card. However, there are times when we may experience recognition problems with it. Next, we will describe the options we have to try to get the computer to recognize it.
Remove the micro SD card
Before applying any other more complex method, you can try removing the card. Thisshould be cleaned with a dry chamois. At the same time it tries to eliminate possible dirt that can be found in the compartment located inside the mobile equipment.
The presence of residues can affect the contact established between the circuits. Caution must be exercised whenever this procedure is to be performed. All these actions must be done with the mobile device turned off.
Insert the micro SD card into another mobile device
After trying the first method, if this does not work, the next step is to test the micro SD card on another mobile device. This in order to determine where the damage is. We will have to know if this is at the phone or card level.
This can be tested not only on another mobile device, but also on a camera or even on a computer. You should only have one adapter on hand. Verify that the card is recognized. If so, try perform actions such as moving files, copy documents, and the like. If everything works normal, the problem is probably with the phone.
Factory reset your phone
As an option, consider taking the phone in for service for repair. Try factory settings first, as the problem may be software related. To do this, go to the device Settings.
In the section called Reset, you can lead to phone to its original settings. This could solve the problem. However, you must bear in mind that by performing this procedure you will lose all the information that your mobile has. Remember to do previously a security copy.

Format the micro SD card
To carry out this procedure you need a computer. The card is inserted through an adapter. Depending on the operating system that the PC has, a certain procedure will be carried out. In the case that this is Windows, the process is very simple. Right click on the drive containing the card. Immediately a menu with a set of options will be displayed, and there select the one that says Format.
Before formatting, you must choose the file system. The most recommended is option FAT 32. And notice that the quick format option is not selected. This method is ideal when the problem is caused by errors at the card's partition system level.
CHKDSK, named after the solver command
This is the last option, in case the ones described above have not worked. In this case the card will be repaired by doing using the CHKDSK command. This command is used to repair any drive, whether internal or external, found on the computer.
The first thing is to identify the unit with which the card appears. Next, it proceeds to open the command window, by entering the word CMD in the Windows search menu.
To run this tool, access by right clicking on the program. A menu will be displayed containing the option Run with administrator privileges. Click here and wait for it to load. Then enter the command: chkdsk N: / F / R. The PC will proceed to repair the unit. For more details on using this command take a look at THIS ANOTHER POST.
