It is not usually easy to talk about a mobile with enthusiasm when it comes to a mid-range or low-end device. There are always going to be better phones, yes, but if we value the value for money, then we may draw a few useful conclusions.
In today's review we talk about the UMIDIGI One and the UMIDIGI One Pro (same terminal, but with 64GB of internal space). A smartphone that stands out for its beautiful design, and that for a 120-euro mobile -in its cheapest version-, has quite balanced and interesting characteristics.
UMIDIGI One in analysis, a very well priced mid-range that conquers your eyes
The truth is that at this point it is difficult to know in which terminal they have been based to “give birth” this UMIDIGI One. The design is reminiscent of the iPhone X, with that notch and that infinite screen that covers almost the entire front. Although the case is clearly inspired by the Huawei P20 Pro… Basically, we could say that it is something like the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro, but in a much more affordable format.
Design and display
This UMIDIGI One mounts a 5.86 ”screen with HD + resolution (1520 x 720p), aspect ratio of 19: 9, and a pixel density of 285ppi. We certainly miss a little more resolution, but it seems that it has become common among Asian manufacturers to dispense with the cheapest Full HD ranges in favor of infinite screens with notch. We are seeing it on many smartphones this year, so for the moment we have no choice but to settle.
In terms of design, there is not much more to add: it is an elegant and beautiful terminal. What more could you want? It is available in color Twilight and black. It has dimensions of 14.84 x 7.14 x 0.83 cm and a weight of 190 grams.
Power and performance
There are not many drawbacks that we can put to this UMI One as far as hardware is concerned. Build an SoC Helio P23 Octa Core 2.0GHz, Accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal space (64GB in the Pro version), expandable up to 128GB via SD. The operating system is Android 8.1 stock and includes a facial recognition system.
At the performance level this translates into a benchmarking result in Antutu of 81,563 points. A pretty good figure that fits perfectly with what we can expect from a terminal with a Helio P23 chip. In short, a device with good performance for day to day, in which we will only notice jerks or heating if we install games with too much graphic load. The usual in a decent mid-range as is the case.
Camera and battery
UMIDIGI has paid special attention to the selfie camera, delivering a double lens in the rear area with 12MP + 5MP and f / 2.0 aperture, along with a more powerful front lens with 16MP photos. It is not a camera to rocket in low light environments, but in broad daylight it can deliver really good shots.
Regarding the battery, the manufacturer has equipped the UMIDIGI One with a 3250mAh battery with type-C USB charging.
Other functionalities
The UMIDIGI One has an NFC connection, Bluetooth 4.2, nano SIM slot and fingerprint reader located on one of the sides. It also supports Dual 4G VoLTE networks, Dual WiFi (2.4G + 5G) and has a stereo speaker that, according to the manufacturer, offers with a maximum volume 2 times higher than the average.

Price and availability
The UMIDIGI One currently has a price of $ 139.99, about 123 euros to change, on GearBest. The UMIDIGI One Pro is somewhat more expensive, with a price of around 150 euros.
In favor : Excellent design, large screen with notch, good processor and more than acceptable camera. Good sound. NFC connection.
Against : Screen resolution, without being a heavy terminal we do not understand very well why it is at 190 grams, taking into account that the battery - the usual cause of weight increases - is not so powerful.
In short, a fairly balanced smartphone in every way and with a performance that confirms the good value for money of the new terminal from the Asian manufacturer.
