Elephone P8 MAX in analysis, mobile with a brutal 5000mAh battery

The Elephone P8 MAX It is the larger and improved version of the Elephone P8 Mini. Just with the name we can already get an idea of where the shots are going. We might think that the tag “MAX” refers to the screen (5.5 ”versus 5” on the Mini). Nothing is further from reality: the strong point of the Elephone P8 MAX is its gigantic 5000mAh battery.

In today's review we talk about the latest proposal from the Asian manufacturer for the international market, the Elephone P8 MAX. Let's go there!

Elephone P8 MAX in analysis, a titan of balanced autonomy and very well priced

The good thing about Elephone is that it always tends to put out products with excellent value for money, and that is something that we also see in the P8 MAX. A brand already established within the very interesting cast of Chinese mobiles that rarely disappoints.

Design and display

The Elephone P8 MAX presents a good 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution (1920x1080p) with 2.5D arched edges in a rugged aluminum body. The inclusion of the classic central physical button is appreciated home, something that is being lost in favor of capacitive buttons, and personally I think it is a success.

Notably we are facing a light mobile for its size. The device weighs 160 grams, an important fact to take into account, especially after seeing the huge battery that it equips - you know that the more battery, the more weight. Its dimensions, on the other hand, are 15.38 x 7.63 x 0.90 cm. In short, little to object in terms of the appearance and design of the P8 MAX.

Power and performance

At the hardware level we find the same guts as its predecessor, the Elephone P8 Mini. A processor MTK6750T Octa Core running at 1.5GHz, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage internal expandable. All with Android 7.0.

I've been using the P8 Mini for over 6 months, and I can assure you that I couldn't be happier with the performance it offers. I don't usually play very powerful games, so in that sense I can't say anything, but the functioning of apps and the fluidity of the system in general are at a very good level. If the Elephone P8 MAX follows in the wake of its little sister, we can be calm and satisfied.

Camera and battery

One of the strengths of the P8 Mini was its front camera, which gave a thousand turns to the double camera that it carried in its back part. It seems that Elephone has learned its lesson, since it has eliminated the double rear lens of the Elephone P8 MAX to leave a single 13MP camera, and has repeated with the same 16MP selfie camera how good results it has given in the previous model.

As for the battery, there is little to add, apart from the fact that we are facing one of the terminals with more autonomy in recent times. A 5000mAh battery with which we can survive for 2 days without major complications. There are not many mobiles with such a large battery and that do not feel like a real brick in your pocket - remember that the P8 MAX only weighs 160gr-.

In relation to the rest of the features, it has dual SIM (nano + nano), Bluetooth 4.0 and charging through a micro USB port.

Price and availability

The Elephone P8 MAX is currently available at a price of $ 139.99, about 118 euros to change, on GearBest. A price that is undoubtedly one of the great attractions of a terminal that knows its place in the mid-range and exploits it in the best possible way.
