Goku VS Superman: Who would win in a battle to the death?

If we were ever to face an impossible battle, the definitive crossover between 2 of the most iconic fictional characters in history, I would definitely have to opt for a fight between Goku and Superman. Yes, I know that this is a dilemma that ink jets have been written about on the Internet, but I think the time has come for us to contribute our little bit in this matter. Goku vs Superman, who would win in a battle to the death?

Fight to the death between Goku vs Superman: Who would be able to land the final blow?

Before starting, I want to clarify that we are not talking about who is the strongest, but who would win in a life or death fight. Regardless of the brute force or power of each of the opponents.

To establish a scale, we are going to try to break down the skills, characteristics, weapons and weak points both Son Goku and Kal-El, the last son of Krypton.

Superman

Clark Kent, aka Superman, is an alien from the extinct planet Krypton. The son of Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, he was sent to Earth and raised by humble farmers in Smallville.

Its powers come from the yellow Sun on which the Earth orbits, and among them stand out the ability to fly, super strength, super endurance, super speed, X-ray vision, laser vision, telescopic and microscopic vision, infrared vision, super-hearing, super-intelligence, photographic memory and the icy super-breath.

He also masters the Kryptonian martial arts Torquasm rao and Torquasm Vo. One of his most recent techniques is the "super flare", an advanced version of his heat vision, releasing energy from every cell in his body and incinerating everything within a 200 meter radius.

His weakness is green kryptonite and is vulnerable to Magic.

He does not usually use any weapons in combat. Not that I need any, hey!

They are goku

Son Goku (Kakarot) is a Saiyan from the planet Vegeta. Son of Bardock, he was sent to Earth shortly before the destruction of his home planet at the hands of Freeza. He was raised by his grandfather Son Gohan, and over the years he has trained with Mutenroshi, the goblin Karin, Kami-sama, Kaito, and the angel Wiss. A true master of martial arts.

Ki attacks and special abilities:

• Ki Burst.
• Kame Hame Ha.
• Kienzan (destroyer disc).
• Taiyo-ken (solar strike).
• Instant change of place.
• Kaio-ken.
• Genki Lady.

Transformations:

• Super Saiyan 1, 2 and 3.
• Super Saiyan God (SS Red).
• Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (SS Blue).
• Ultra Instinct (Miggate no gokui).

Among Goku's weaknesses are the following:

• Being overconfident.
• Level of studies sub-zero.
• He hates unfair fights.
• Greater energy consumption in transformations.

Finally, among the weapons / items that Goku uses are the Nyoibo magic staff, the senzu seeds and the Kinton cloud (although he hardly uses it anymore).

Combat at short, medium and long distance

In a close-range fight, Superman will most likely have everything to win. Let's assume that by brute force it is difficult for Goku to beat Clark, although being the best martial artist there is, he would undoubtedly stand up to him for a long time.

In the medium and long distance things change, and a lot. Here Son Goku has an arsenal of energy techniques much broader and more lethal than that of the Kryptonian. Superman could use his heat vision or icy breath, and even throw heavy objects (rocks, cars, all kinds of inventory), but nothing that Goku can't counter with a good assortment of ki blasts.

Goku vs. Superman - Let The Battle Begin!

Goku is a fighter who always enjoys a good fight. Therefore, he would first start by making melee attacks to test his enemy's power. Although Superman is also knowledgeable about the Torquasm Rao and Torquasm Vo arts, the truth is that in most of his fights he performs more like a regular boxer, with tremendously powerful punches to knock out his opponent.

Another factor to take into account is the speed of Superman, which far exceeds the speed of light (yes, it is not as fast as Flash). In a normal state, the only way Goku would find to dodge his attacks would be by using the instantaneous change of place. However, this is a technique that requires concentration, which means that he could not use it so often as to counter all the attacks of the son of Jor-El.

Most likely due to the nobility of both characters, neither of the two would go to the maximum from the beginning, which would lead to several minutes of hand-to-hand fighting, by way of score.

When seeing that the thing does not advance, Son Goku would choose to transform into Super Saiyan. This would give him a small head start, beating his adversary with punches and martial combinations, landing several blows that would force Superman to get serious.

Here Superman would use one of his great assets: superspeed. As a consequence, Goku would start to receive a good spanking. How to deal with it? Leaving some distance between the two. Goku would use the Taiyo Ken (solar flare) to blind Superman - especially damaging thanks to his heightened senses - and walk away.

Goku realizes that his blows are barely doing him significant damage, and turns to the Kienzan. The destructive disc, Krillin's hallmark, has a cutting edge capable of cutting anything that gets in its way. Superman, unprepared, would manage to dodge him at the last moment, but would take one of his ears ahead.

Angry, Kal-El would launch a powerful energy beam through the eyes, impacting Son Goku and leaving his clothes in tatters. Goku would move on to Super Saiyan 2, responding with a devastating Kame Hame Ha. But Superman's resistance knows no limits, and although he manages to block and deflect the Saiyan's energy wave, his clothes are also destroyed, although to a lesser extent, erasing part of the large "S" that appears on his chest.

Goku turns into Super Saiyan 3, and Clark, seeing that this is not turning out as easy as he thought, launches himself on the attack, doubling the speed of light. As a consequence, Goku fits a powerful ram formed by the 2 fists that throws him hundreds of meters away, destroying everything in his path.

Since the third level of Super Saiyan is not going to solve things, Goku decides to release the ki of the gods and transforms into Super Saiyan God. Now the combat is much more balanced, and manages to land several blows to the face and chest of the friend of Batman and Wonder Woman.

Things are getting serious for Superman. He's lost an ear, he's getting really tired, and his opponent is just pushing his own limits over and over again. Clark then rises to the skies, to the limits of the atmosphere. Being closer to the sun, your cells recharge, achieving a sudden and bestial increase in energy.

Goku goes after him, and decides to raise the ante one more notch, reaching his transformation into a blue god. He prepares to launch the most powerful Kame Hame of all, using the Kaio-ken x20. Superman has to prevent that from happening, so he approaches his adversary at a speed 3 times faster than light.

But Goku won't fall into the same trap twice. When Superman is about to catch up with Goku, he uses the instantaneous change of place to teleport behind him, and fully endorses the Kame Hame. However, he is too close to the Kryptonian, and he catches him in the bear's embrace, breaking his left arm and rendering him completely useless.

The fight is coming to an end, and Goku raises his good arm to gather energy with the ultimate Genki Dama. Superman, on the other hand, is not willing to allow him to complete a technique as powerful as this and decides to play his last card: the "Super flare".

Superman explodes releasing huge amounts of energy from every cell in his body, burning everything in a radius of 200 meters. Goku, on the verge of death, is unable to activate the Ultra Instinct, leaving his most recent and lethal technique as the last option: the Hakai.

The Saiyan, already in a base state and with great difficulty, approaches Kal-El, who is completely exhausted due to the high energy consumption of the super flare. Goku dedicates a few words to the last son of Krypton, and after wishing to meet him again in the other world, he executes the Hakai on him, disintegrating his body completely.
