The UMIDIGI Z1 Pro It is one of the latest premium mid-range smartphones from the well-known Asian manufacturer. It is a somewhat more humble version than the great UMIDIGI S2 Pro, with somewhat less wild specifications, and consequently a lower price that barely reaches 200 euros.
Be careful, we are not talking about a low-spec mobile either, on the contrary. However, the great quality of this Z1 Pro is that it is one of the thinnest and lightest mobiles that we can find today. And that, taking into account that it carries a more than notorious battery, is a point to take into account.
UMIDIGI Z1 Pro in review: AMOLED screen, lots of RAM and a remarkable battery in a compact body to the maximum
In today's review we analyze the UMIDIGI Z1 Pro, a smartphone of those that does not bother your pocket, but with the advantage of equipping more than decent hardware.
Design and display
The UMIDIGI Z1 Pro mounts a display 5.5-inch AMOLED with Full HD resolution (1920x1080p), 2.5D arched edges and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It seems that UMIDIGI has finally switched to AMOLED, a type of higher quality screen that we are not used to seeing regularly in this type of mobile.
Another important factor is the design. The manufacturer's efforts in this case have focused on reducing the thickness (6.95mm) and the weight, and all this without giving up the aluminum casing. Taking into account that we are facing a terminal of only 154 grams it is something especially remarkable.
Power and performance
Entering the guts of the UMIDIGI Z1 Pro we find a processor Helio P20 Octa Core running at 2.3GHz, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space expandable up to 256GB via SD. All with Android 7.0 as operating system in command.
High mid-range specifications that undoubtedly allow fluid multitasking and performance that in general we can consider remarkable, with the capacity to run practically any type of app and with enough space to store photos and videos.
Camera and battery
In the photographic section the Z1 Pro incorporates a 13MP + 5MP dual rear camera with Quad LED flash and PFAD with f / 2.4 aperture, and a 5MP selfie camera.
Where the terminal really shines, on the other hand, is in the battery, thanks to a loose battery of 4000mAh with fast charge via USB Type-C.
Other features
The UMIDIGI Z1 Pro has a fingerprint reader on the front, Bluetooth 4.1 connection, Dual SIM (nano + nano) and supports the following networks: 2G (GSM 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz), 3G (WCDMA 900 / 2100MHz) and 4G (FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100 / 2600MHz).
Price and availability
The UMIDIGI Z1 Pro was launched 10 months ago, in June 2017, at a price of 292 euros. However, time is usually a positive factor in these types of devices, and now we can get hold of it for 196.97 euros, about $ 239.99 to change, on GearBest. Available in black and red.
Opinion and final assessment of the UMIDIGI Z1 Pro

Right now, the biggest drawback we can get out of the Z1 Pro is that it doesn't have a slightly more powerful camera. For the rest, I have always valued the weight of a terminal as one of the most important factors when making a purchase of this type. A feature that, within the mid-range, had always left me at the mercy of terminals with much lower characteristics. In this sense, the Z1 Pro is released with note, since those 6GB of RAM and above all, that 4000mAh battery is not something that is seen every day in a phone weighing 154 grams.
