Doing a mail redirection with Office 365 does not vary much compared to previous versions of the Exchange management console, you just have to know where to look for this feature to be able to put it into practice.
If you are a systems administrator or helpdesk technician, you have been asked to redirect all the emails that arrive from account A to account B. If you have to perform this task in O365, the steps you must follow are the following:
- Sign in to Office 365 and access the administration panel. Then, from the left side menu, look for the user you want to apply the redirect to. Normally the account is usually within the list of active users. To be able to search for the user, click on the icon of the magnifying glass that appears in the center.
- Once the user is located, make a single click on him and you will see how the following panel is loaded on your right. Choose "Edit Exchange properties”.
- Within the properties go to "Mailbox features"And enter"Mail flow”.
- If you have used the Exchange administration console, this section is more familiar to you. Within the delivery options click on "enable forwarding"And select the email account to which you want the messages of the desired account to arrive from"Examine”. You can also mark the checkbox below so that the emails reach both accounts.
Remember that you can only redirect emails to accounts that you manage within your domain, so if you want emails to be redirected to an external account you have to create a contact in Exchange and forward to the contact.
