Ulefone Armor 2 in analysis, the rugged phone with 6GB of RAM

When we talk about rugged phonesrugged phones in English- we refer to off-road telephones, terminals specially designed to withstand all kinds of earthly elements such as splashes of mud, dust or water. The resistance as the maximum exponent.

The downside of this type of smartphone is that, in most cases, neither the design of the case, nor the technical specifications are usually especially attractive. But there are always the occasional noble exception, as is the case of the terminal we are analyzing today, the Ulefone Armor 2.

Analysis of the Ulefone Armor 2, the best rugged phone of 2017?

In today's review, we take an in-depth look at the Ulefone Armor 2, an all-terrain phone with IP68 certification, 6GB RAM and some technical specifications that, I'm sure, will surprise more than one.

Design and display

The first thing that strikes us when we see any rugged phone is its design. It must be taken into account that this type of terminals are designed so that dust or water will not enter through any gaps or holes, which implies that many times there is not much room to cheer up our eyes.

In this case, and without serving as a precedent, although this Armor 2 is completely protected by what looks like a transformer from the Michael Bay movies, the truth is that the design and general appearance seem really successful to me.

The screen, meanwhile, has a 5-inch panel with a Full HD resolution 1920 × 1080 pixels, all protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Power and performance

The Ulefone Armor 2 in essence, and as far as hardware is concerned, it is an upper-middle-range phone. They haven't skimped on resources here, and the company has made sure to leave all sides well covered: processor, memory, and storage space.

In the CPU section, the terminal wears the best Mediatek processor to date, the Helio P25, an 8-core processor running at a frequency of 2.6GHz. In addition, it also equips 6GB of RAM, a Mali-T880 GPU and 64GB of internal storage space, all with Android 7.0 as an operating system.

As a result, we have a phone with more than considerable power that will allow us both to play powerful games, and to run heavy applications and anything else that comes to mind, without fear that the terminal will leave us stranded. All this without cutting that also has the highest possible certification (IP68) in protection against impacts and aggressions of solids and liquids.

Camera and battery

Both the camera and the battery remain at the same level as the rest of the components of the Ulefone Armor 2. If you expected to find a fair battery or a weak camera, error:

  • In the battery, we find a 4700mAh charge, which gives the terminal autonomy well above the usual standards, which tend to be around 3000-3500mAh.
  • The camera is also well covered, thanks to a 13.0MP front lens, and, above all, to a 16MP rear camera that orbits above the rest of the mid-range terminals on the market and with which we can take very good quality photos.

Other features

As for the rest of the Ulefone Armor 2 specifications, it should be noted that it has NFC technology, fingerprint detector on the front panel, dual satellite positioning system with GPS and GLONASS, SOS emergency button, USB type C and fast charging function. It has dimensions of 15.90 x 7.83 x 1.45 cm, and a weight of 270gr.

In addition, it has dual SIM (space for 2 nano SIMs) and supports 2G / 3G / 4G networks (CDMA, FDD-LTE, GSM, TD-SCDMA, TDD-LTE, WCDMA).

Price and availability of the Ulefone Armor 2

The Ulefone Armor 2 has just been presented in society, and it is already available in pre-sale phase at a price of 220 euros (about $ 259.99 to change) on GearBest, between August 14 and 21. As of this date, its usual price will be $ 299.99, about € 255 at the change.
