Cube iwork 1x in review: a versatile Tablet PC with Windows 10 and 11.6 ’’ screen - El Android Feliz

Cube is a manufacturer specialized in tablet PCs that is characterized by delivering efficient devices at frankly competitive prices. After releasing the Cube iwork 11 , a dual tablet PC with a 10.6 ’’ screen, the company now presents the iwork 1x model, the new Cube device with a renewed Intel Atom x5-Z8350 Quad Core SoC , and an even larger screen, 11.6 inches.

In today's review we take a look at the Cube iwork 1x , a tablet PC with Windows 10, versatile and with a quality finish.

Design and display

The Cube iwork 1x It has a fairly elegant design to be a tablet that does not exceed € 175 in price. The metallic front has a black frame with the selfie camera and Skype located in the center, and the Windows logo in the lower area of the frame. The back cover is matte gray with the company's metallic logo shining in the center of it. It has dimensions of 29.96 x 18.06 x 1.02 cm and a weight of 0.7400 kg. In general we can say that it is a rather attractive looking tablet .

As far as the screen is concerned, The Cube iwork 1x features a 10-point touch IPS panel, with a size of 11.6 inches and Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080). We can say that we are facing a panoramic screen, somewhat flatter and longer than usual and with frankly commendable image quality. This is a point to take into account with tablets of this type, since if we are going to work with Windows, it is important that the screen is of quality to be able to navigate and move through the various system folders and applications without difficulty. In that regard, we can be calm and satisfied with the result that the iwork 1x offers.

To show you a little more in depth the whole visual aspect and better convey the sensations of the device, I have prepared you the following unboxing of the Cube iwork 1x together with a small video-review:

Power and performance

As far as hardware is concerned, the new Cube model has quite attractive specifications: processor Intel Atom x5-Z8350 Quad Core at 1.44GHz (up to 1.92GHz), 4GB of DDR3L RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable by card. Taking into account that the system has Windows 10 As an operating system, those 4GB of RAM are great for us to be able to work and run any application on the device with the necessary fluidity and tranquility.

I've been working with the Cube iwork 1x for a few days: testing various applications, browsing and playing a few games, and in general the tablet has behaved as expected. Office applications such as Word or Excel are run and moved with ease, and browsing the Internet and social networks has gone wonderfully without altercations. As for the games, it works really well with emulators and retro or not very demanding games. If we are looking to run AAA games we can also get by if we reduce the graphic load and give a little less work to the processor and the GPU. Let's bear in mind that we are facing a Tablet PC that works with Windows 10 and that It opens up a whole range of possibilities in terms of desktop applications. .

Charging and Battery

The battery is one of the strengths of the Cube iwork 1x thanks to its 8500mAh lithium-ion polymer battery. We will need a long time to charge the battery, but once we have it at 100% its duration is extraordinary. I have not been able to calculate how many hours it lasts exactly, but I can assure you that I have spent a few days putting it to good use until I had to connect it to power again. The new Intel Atom x5-Z8350 chip is supposed to harness power more efficiently than the previous Z8300, and it really shows.

Keyboard and mouse

This is another important factor to consider. Although the Cube iwork 1x works perfectly as a tablet to use, If we really want to squeeze its possibilities as an office automation tool, we should consider adding a keyboard and its corresponding mouse. The base of the iwork 1x has a keyboard port and docks, ideal for adding a dock or base and turning the tablet into a laptop. This type of accessories usually cost around 50 euros, and although it can involve a significant outlay, the benefits it brings are more than compensated. If not, we can also take advantage of the USB and micro USB input to add a peripheral or make use of bluetooth keyboards / mice. In any case, if we want to take a tablet PC of this type to the next level, there is no doubt: keyboard + mouse yes or yes.

Price and availability

The Cube iwork 1x is priced at € 187.64, about $ 204 to change. A more than attractive price for a tablet of these characteristics, without a doubt. If you are thinking of getting it, I recommend you take advantage of the following GearBest offer where we can get hold of the keyboard for a price of € 0, completely free (when buying the tablet we simply add the keyboard to our cart and they give it to us as a gift).

To add the keyboard to our cart we have to look at the tab " Featured products ”And select the Tablet + Keyboard pack. The offer is limited to 100 units, so take a good look before making the purchase. Taking into account that the keyboard is around 70 euros, it is a point to take into account.
