CUBOT is not a manufacturer of great devices. It is a classic of the mid-range, but it always tends to reward the economy above all else, delivering low-mid-range mobiles. It is something that he does very well, and that is why he has become really known around the world. With the CUBOT X18 Plus goes one step further. Right now I explain why.
In today's review we take a look at the CUBOT X18 Plus, a balanced smartphone with 4GB of RAM, a good battery, a Full HD + infinity screen and Android 8.0 Oreo. Let's go there!
CUBOT X18 Plus in review: when you don't need a Snapdragon 845 to be a great
And it is that not everyone needs a processor capable of managing the next NASA space program to consider it a great phone. Until now, almost all Cubot terminals suffered from some important deficiency. If it wasn't the screen, it was the CPU, or the RAM ... or the battery.
With the Plus version of the CUBOT X18 they have sought the balance, And hey, they have. We still have a very well priced mid-range, but at least now we do not miss that seasoning that would make the X18 Plus a much tastier snack.
Design and display
In the visual section, the CUBOT X18 Plus delivers a 5.99 ”frameless screen with Full HD + resolution (2160x1080p), 18: 9 format, 403ppi and 90% NTSC.
In the back you saw a glossy housing with a double camera accompanied by the always grateful fingerprint detector, located in the center - personally I think it is the most comfortable place to use it.
A sleek, modern design reminiscent of the Galaxy S8. Something that should work very well, given the large number of clones that have appeared this year of the penultimate Samsung flagship.
The X18 Plus has dimensions of 15.85 x 7.36 x 0.85 cm and a weight of 178gr.
Power and performance
As far as hardware is concerned, there are still no great fanfare or artifice. However, with the CUBOT X18 Plus the manufacturer has decided to equip it with everything necessary so that it does not slip in any way.
On the one hand, we have a processor MTK6750T Octa Core 1.5GHz, Accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space expandable up to 256GB via SD. All accompanied by the most recent Android 8.0 Oreo.
This is probably one of the best CPU + RAM + ROM combos when it comes to component value for money. We have a low-power processor that delivers excellent performance, robust RAM, and enough space to store photos, videos, and whatever else is needed without the need for a micro SD card.
Camera and battery
The CUBOT X18 Plus equips a powerful 20MP + 2MP dual rear camera and aperture f / 2.0 with flash and autofocus. On the front, on the other hand, we find a 13MP selfie camera that is not bad either.
In terms of autonomy, CUBOT has opted for the round figure of 4000mAh. A battery charged by micro USB that ensures a remarkable duration without raising the weight of the terminal too much.
Price and availability
The CUBOT X18 Plus has just been presented on GearBest at a reduced price of $ 129.99, about 105 euros to change. This is an offer that will be available for the duration of the terminal's presale, between March 5 and 12. As of that date, its official sale price will be $ 169.99, about € 138.
For all those interested in getting this very interesting mid-range, between March 5 and 9, Gearbest will be offering the first 10 CUBOT X18 Plus for only $ 79.99, daily from 09:00 UTC.
Opinion and final assessment of the CUBOT X18 Plus

Although we are not in front of a spectacular top of the range of 600 euros, the truth is that we are facing a fantastic base mid-range mobile phone. Its adjusted price will undoubtedly attract many users, but what really makes this X18 Plus great is that it has achieved a balance rarely seen in a manufacturer with so many years of experience behind it like CUBOT.
