Dragon Ball is living a new golden age. There we have the new Dragon Ball Super that is sweeping more than half the world. In addition, the facilities offered by new technologies today allow the creation of some fan films that on many occasions exceed Hollywood's attempts to get closer to the world of Goku and company.
Such is the case of "Dragon Ball: Light of Hope«, A Robot Underdog project that has been in the pot for a few years now - it has been 3 years since we saw the first trailer - and that recently just published a new installment of its successful series:
This video corresponds to chapters 1 and 2, which would be the continuation of first pilot Posted a couple of years ago:
As you have been able to verify the story focuses entirely on Trunks' alternate future, with Androids No. 17 and No. 18 destroying everything wherever they pass, and with Son Gohan and Trunks as the only protectors of a humanity whose survival looks blacker than ever.
The costumes and characterization are quite successfulAnd although that blond Son Gohan does not convince me, I must admit that it is a really excellent work that shows that if there is desire and love involved, an adaptation more than worthy of the work of Akira Toriyama can be made.
The only downside to it is that air of solemnity that lingers throughout the entire footage, and that instead of adding epicity to the story many times achieves the opposite effect. The final battle between Gohan and the Androids, without a doubt, is one of the high points, and a sample of all the good that the guys from Robot Underdog can do.
Although the creators of the series have just announced their interest in making adaptations of other well-known anime or manga series, "Dragon Ball Z: Light of Hope" promises to move forward with new chapters. Although seen what has been seen, it does not seem that it will be soon. In any case, we are faced with a proposal that no Dragon Ball fan should miss.
