UMI has done it again. With the UMI Plus from the previous season, we could see how the Asian company spends them in terms of smartphones and quality / price ratio. They avoid including Snapdragon processors that would raise the price of the terminal significantly, and in return they give us a hypervitamin smartphone in all other factors. Although many Chinese mobiles use this same technique, none reaches the “supergod” level of UMI. The company is managing to stand out greatly among the best of the current upper-middle range, and now with the UMI Plus E, present the first mid-range with 6GB of RAM, and at a price that has nothing to do with that of other, a priori, much better known brands.
In today's review we analyze the UMI Plus E, a terminal with powerful hardware that stands out for its elegant design, juicy specifications and a more than reasonable price.
Display and layout
The UMI Plus E follows a bit the same line as the rest of the company's terminals: elegance, sobriety and a more than attractive design. The device has a black unibody body with an aluminum finish that gives it a premium touch and gives it a high-quality visual appearance. Rounded edges, 2.5D arched display, and the classic physical button just below the front panel.
As far as screen is concerned, it has a panel of 5.5 inches made by SHARP, FullHD resolution and protected by the resistant T2X-1 glass.
Power and performance
Hardware is the strong point of this UMI Plus E. We are in 2017 and some (few) companies can already start to afford these things. Inside its casing the Plus E incorporates an incredible 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM memory module manufactured by Samsung, which together with the processor Helio P20 at 2.3GHz MTK make this smartphone a real flagship killer of the super mid-range. In addition, it includes 64GB of storage space that we can expand up to 256GB by card.
A smartphone that It will allow us to do practically everything in terms of performance and power: keep several apps open at the same time, play, browse and whatever comes to mind. The Helio P20 is not a Snapdragon (and thank you, because otherwise the terminal would shoot us up to 400 or 500 euros at least), but it is one of the best of Mediatek, and it shows.
Camera and battery
The camera of the UMI Plus E follows in the wake of previous models of the terminal. A rear 3L8 of 13 megapixel made by Samsung, with a 5-element lens with flash and autofocus that allows 2K and 4K recordings. A good camera that perhaps suffers a bit in low-light environments, but that is capable of taking high-quality captures on a day-to-day basis. On the front, for its part, we find a selfie camera equipped with the correct 5MP.
With regard to the autonomy of the terminal, the Plus E follows in the wake of the previous UMI Plus: a powerful 4000mAh battery that will grant important periods of autonomy to the terminal, being able to spend more than a day without charging the mobile and without fear of being hung up in the middle of the day. Currently there are not so many smartphones that serve such powerful batteries, and that is also something to take into account.
As for the rest of the specifications, the UMI Plus E has Android 6.0, fingerprint detector on the front, USB Type C, OTG, dual SIM, 3.5mm headphone port, 4G connectivity and Bluetooth 4.1.

Currently the UMI Plus E it has a price of 229.99$, or what is the same, about 217 euros to change. A more than fair amount for a terminal that delivers much more than what you ask for and that has an elegant and attractive design.
