HOMTOM ZOJI Z7 and Z6: 2 super resistant smartphones with IP68

Most smartphones are not made for the harsh life of the field. Not even to put up with its owner if he has a really demanding physical job, or is in permanent contact with large amounts of water. Smartphones fall, are hit, dust gets into them, and they even get wet, of course.

For these cases it is best to pull a rugged all-rounder mobile phone (in English known as ruggedphones), which offers a plus against this type of mishap. Like for example the new ZOJI Z6 and Z7 what has launched HOMTOM recently, the subject of our review today.

Analysis of the HOMTOM ZOJI Z6 and HOMTOM ZOJI Z7: 2 terminals with IP68 certification and a quite attractive design

When looking for a rugged phone, one of the key factors we have to look at is its IP certification. This is a value calculated based on:

  • A score of 1 to 6 for its resistance to dust and dirt.
  • A score of 1 to 8 for its water resistance.

In this case, the new ZOJI Z6 and Z7 both have the maximum certification, IP68. Without a doubt, the strong point of these two off-road phones.

The other point to take into account would be the resistance to shocks and falls, and although the Z6 and Z7 from HOMTOM do not have an official certification - Military Specifications and Standards - in this sense (or at least we have not been able to find it), they do wear a resistant glass Corning Gorilla Glass 4 to protect the screen from possible bumps and scratches, the main victim of falls and various blows.

Both the ZOJI Z6 and Z7 are 2 entry-level terminals with base specifications, although the Z7 would be the most appetizing of the 2, thanks to those 2GB of RAM and more internal storage space.

For the rest, they are devices with which to carry out day-to-day tasks. We will not be able to play AAA games, but to call, talk on WhatsApp, surf the internet and take a couple of photos we have more than enough. All this taking into account that we will no longer have to worry about it getting wet or getting a little water, mud or sand. That is its great virtue, the IP68.
