How to Record Phone Calls on Android - The Happy Android

Record phone calls on Android? The truth is that with the utilities that exist for practically everything, the weird thing would be if there weren't any to record your own phone calls. If you are a spy in the service of His Majesty or if you are involved in a shady criminal prosecution you need one of these apps. What if you could turn that accusation upside down (for crimes you never committed) with a very timely phone recording? That's what “Automatic Call Recorder” is for.

It is a free app, and like its own name indicates its function is to record and record all the calls you make or receive from your Android phone. To record calls with Call Recorder you just have to follow the following steps:

  • Download and install the app from the Google PlayStore (click here).
  • Once installed open the app.
  • The app will remain working in the background, and whenever a telephone communication is established, it will be automatically recorded.

Functioning

As I tell you, once the app is installed, all calls are automatically recorded (although we can filter as I explain below). When we make or receive a call it will be prerecorded, and we can actually check it, because if we look at it, during the call we will see an icon with the symbol of a telephone in the notification bar (see lower left image), indication that the app is working.

Once the call is made, it is saved in the inbox automatically

If we click on the notification we will also access the inbox Call Recorder, from where we can see all the prerecorded calls. It should be clarified that although the calls appear in the inbox, and can be reproduced, they are not permanently recorded until we click on the call in question and choose "Keep”.

The recordings are only permanently saved when we click on «Save»

If, on the other hand, we do not want to save the call, just click on it and select "Delete”. As you can see in the upper screenshot, from the call menu we have several options at our fingertips. From play the call, until to share recording, including the possibility of make annotations about the recordings we are making.

Setting

The configuration options offered by Call Recorder are quite satisfactory for a free application.

  • Record calls: We can activate or deactivate automatic call recording. By default it is activated, so if you do not want everything to be recorded automatically or you do not want to fill the free space of your device with a lot of calls, it is advisable to deactivate it.
  • Cloud: We can choose to save the recordings in Google Drive or Dropbox.
  • Type of file: From here we can choose the recording format: 3GP, AMR or WAV.
  • Inbox size: By default the application saves up to 100 calls in the inbox until we decide if we want to save them or not. If we do not want to saturate our device, it is advisable to reduce the size of the tray to 20 calls or similar.
  • Default mode: From here we can filter if we want to record everything, ignore all calls or ignore, for example, calls from our contacts.
  • Contacts to ignore: This option allows us to avoid recordings of specific contacts.
  • Recording path: From here we can see where the recordings are saved automatically and we can modify the route at your convenience.
The configuration options are very well thought out ...

As you can see, it is a very simple application that fulfills its mission perfectly, and also the free version comes with enough features and functionalities to avoid having to pay for the pro version, which makes it an ideal app for the service it performs.
